Introduction !!! Wednesday 19 August Marianna GI

Hi Mr...

Well I think that philosophy is in everywhere and it varies a lot form person to person.

Philosophy lets us know what is happening and let us question ourselves of our own life, the things and situations that sorround us. Science could psoibly be the opposite of philosophy because scientist want to stablish a law or an specified thory, while philosophers want to answer questions of life and reality.

I think that the difference between science and philosophy is that science only searchs for an specific answer, while philosophy doesn't eliminates multiple theories and and questions, and makes us think in a criticial and reasonable way.

Philosophy is in everywher and sometimes we don't even care.

I found really interesting the book of Fernando Savater, Questions of life, I agree with him in chapter number 1, I had the same questions about death and what`s after death, but know I have cleared a liitle bit one of many questions I have.

Know I understand that death is part of our life, and this must not make me feel afraid because life is just a cycle.

From this I conclude that everyone could be a philospher because you see things from a different point of view than the rest of the people.
I know too much to be a sceptic and too little to be a dogmatist. - Pierre Bayle.
The antiquity and general acceptance of an opinion is not assurance of its truth. - Pierre Bayle.

  1. Very interesting your quotes. Very interesting.

Going a little bit back into your post and using the second Bayle's quote, you say that scientists what to stablish what they figure out as the unique reason or explanation of something, right? What about religions? isn't scientists similar to priests? Sometimes philosophers also want to establish their theories as unique, or at least they would like them to be unique. All part of the always present ego. What do you think?

I also liked the first chapter of the book, because it helps us realize that death its not that bad. :)

  3. I also believe that every person has a different opinion about what is philosophy. And I think that according to that, people give a different meaning.
