Introduction to Philosophy...
I think every human need to know about philosophy, because it helps us to understand the things that science can't explain. For me, science only has one answer for everything and the answer has to be proved so we can't think of any other option.
Philosophy makes us think about a lot of possibilities and make us question everything so we could find the best answer for what we're looking for. Science may have answers to almost everything, but the philosophy is the one that help us to understand the significance of life so we could live better.
I think that philosophy is very useful for all our life, like school, work, family, friends, etc. It makes us want to know more things about life, how can we improve our way of living.
Philosophy makes us think more critical, not the first answer that comes to our head. It’s a very good way for makes us think and “use our brain”.
I found very interesting the book we are reading, “Questions of life, Fernando Savater”. I have only read the first chapter but I really liked it, because sometimes I think what happens after we die. But the first chapter makes us realize that death it’s only a part of our life, we have to accept it, and it’s not as bad as it looks.
My conclusion is that I think Philosophy it’s very important and I like it because it makes me think more about everything. I hope this semester we learn more about it so it could help us through all of our life.

I agree with your point, philosophy do makes us think and ask questions beyond the obvious. It makes us pass above pre-established answers and look for our own; it helps us understand life and what it means to every one of us. I think you are right when you say that philosophy helps us to live better.
ResponderEliminarLive better? But wouldn't it be a hard thing to always wanting to know the meaning of things? Better or easier? Maybe happier?
ResponderEliminarThere was a philosophical greek current call the Cynics. Basicly they argued that persuiting something and not getting it will bring you a bad feeling and will get you far from happiness, so in orther to reach happiness earlier you just have to stop desiring stuff (like material things, or reaching high ideas, or maybe even to stop desiring to be loved) So even this is also philosophy, it will also be like the lack of it. Don't wish anything and you will get what you want earlier, and with this also happiness.
So would philosophy and thinking and questioning about everything really make our life better?
hey alee i also think that philosphy let us leave better, because it answers the questions of live and gives a different point of view of things and of life, and makes us think and refelct about lifee!
