Why philosophy?
I think is a question that all of us make..
It will help us? Its necessary for our lives?
At the beginning, I didn’t know why philosophy, in my thinking it’s a waste of time , but after the class and reading the first pages of the book (Questions of life, Fernando Savater) , I change my point of view, and I think it will help me to understand some things, it will be interesting.
Philosophy tries to give answer about questions of our own life, questions that we can’t answer with scientific subjects.
Philosophy let us know, different answers of everything that is around us, about our own life, problems, the real meaning of the thing that we already know, or for what we can use it.
Science and philosophy are obviously different because in my thinking science just give us the information, for why are some things and of what thing are they made, but the interesting of philosophy is that, let us think what those things represent to us, if it useful to us, philosophy make us think.
I think that in this semester we are going to think about things that are around us, things that are common for us, but we don’t give importance, even if we know that there they are.
For my conclusion I think that philosophy help us to open our mind and vision of all the world and of ourselves.
I liked you're question: "It will help us? Its necessary for our lives?" I think philosophy helps us through everything in our life, and it's necessary.

I really liked your post Toñe, and I agree when you say that science just give us the information and for why things are they made, when philosophy let us think what things represent to us in our lives, because there are so many things that only exists and we don't pay attention to it, and somethings are really meaningful in our lives. We think almost the same.

ResponderEliminarI totally agree with your post, specially in the parts that sais, that before the class you think that philosophy was a waste of time, I used to think the same, but I saw that my thinking was a mistake, that phulosophy is very important in our life, also I agree with you when you said that philosophy give us the meaning of the things for us, not only the informmation as science do,, =)
